We’ve heard of using correction fluid as nail polish and rubber bands to tie up hair, but Taylor Swift has substituted an even more unusual office supply into her beauty regime.

To achieve her signature cat’s eye look, the face of Covergirl make-up admits she once used a black permanent marker when caught short in an airplane bathroom.

“I don’t recommend it,” she told style website Refinery 29. (We’re not sure what was used to remove the Sharpie marker from Taylor’s eyelids, but suffice to say it must have been effective.)

Asked to sum up her style in three words, the hugely popular country crossover star chose “classic, feminine, and retro."
