“The smell of a freshly printed book is the best smell in the world,” says Karl Lagerfeld – and now he’s developed a fragrance to capture it.
Paper Passion is a new scent by Geza Schoen, Gertrude Steidl, Wallpaper magazine and Chanel creative director Lagerfeld, who created its packaging. The new perfume is housed within the cut-out pages of a book-like box, which is titled "The Silent Smell of Paper by Karl Lagerfeld".
Lagerfeld is no stranger to the whiff of unusual perfumes – he once created one to smell like bread. While we applaud the creative effort, we’re sure the aroma of a musty bookshop won’t be nearly appealing as his fragrant creations for Chanel.
